Confirmation Preparation is a two year program with classes beginning in 7th Grade. 

 

Prerequisite: Must be enrolled in Religious Education the year prior to beginning the Confirmation Preparation Program.  If the student was not enrolled in Religious Education classes the year prior, students will be enrolled in our Pre-Confirmation class before beginning Confirmation Preparation.

Confirmation I (1st Year) – (NOTE: Any child wishing to enter the Confirmation Program must have a full year of religious education classes prior to entering the first year of Confirmation.)

Chosen Confirmation Program:  It is a two year program.  Students learn about God’s loving gift of revelation through creation, the prophets, the Incarnation and the Church. Grace is understood as being central to our relationship with God because it unites us with Him and allows us to share in His eternal life.  We place special on the role of grace in the seven sacraments and in developing the virtues as well as Theology of the Body.

Required Prayers (in English):  The Sign of the Cross, Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, Apostle’s Creed, Act of Contrition, Ten Commandments

Additional Requirements:  20 Service Hours; Saint Paper

Confirmation II (2nd Year) – This is a continuation of Confirmation I.  In addition to the above, preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation will include a Confirmation Retreat in which we focus on evangelization and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and the mission Christ calls us to in their journey of faith.

Additional Requirements:  20 Service Hours, Saint Paper; Sponsor paperwork; Letter to the Bishop
