SERVICE PROJECTS

Your preparation for Confirmation includes learning about your faith, celebrating your faith and witnessing to your faith in your daily life.  An important way to witness to your faith is by performing service for others without any expectations of reward.

Christ calls us all to be disciples and to bring the light of Jesus to others through service.  As Christians, we have a responsibility to serve by being a living example of Christ teachings.  We can do this by showing others the same mercy that Christ shows us.

Confirmation Service Projects are a part of your Confirmation Program.  To follow Jesus is to be of loving service to others as He was.  Jesus gave the example of service throughout his life.

Why do we have Service Projects?

  • The purpose of the service project is NOT to gain hours or point as a requirement for Confirmation.  Service to others is an integral part of our call to live out our faith.

  • The service project is a way to examine and live out our giftedness.

  • We are asked to live our faith and commitment to Jesus Christ by using our gifts and talents to serve others.

  • In the Gospel, we are called to feed the hungry, to comfort those in need, and to live a life of service to others.
